How TritonChores works, and what to do when it does not. If none of this covers it, email support@tritonapps.com.
1. Where the app is up to
TritonChores is in development and is not yet on the App Store or Google Play. If you are testing a pre-release build, everything below applies; if you are waiting for the release, there is nothing to install yet.
2. Getting started
Create an account, then either create a household or join one with the invite code someone sends you. A household is the unit everything else hangs off — chores, points and the leaderboard all belong to it.
Add the jobs that genuinely recur first. A list of twelve real chores that stays accurate beats forty that nobody updates.
3. Inviting people
Open the household and share its invite code. Anyone with the code can join, so send it directly rather than posting it somewhere public. If a code is circulating more widely than you intended, an administrator can remove the member and the household can be re-created.
4. Recurring chores and templates
A chore can repeat daily, weekly, monthly or on a custom pattern. Completing an occurrence schedules the next one, so a weekly job is set up once.
Save a chore as a template to reuse it in future, or start from the built-in templates for the common household jobs.
5. Reminders and notifications
Reminders are optional and off until you enable them. You choose how far ahead an upcoming-due reminder arrives, and whether overdue nudges happen at all. Tapping a notification opens the chore it refers to.
If reminders stop arriving, check that notification permission is still granted to TritonChores in your device settings — both iOS and Android can revoke it after a long period of disuse.
6. Points, streaks and the leaderboard
Each chore carries a point value you set, so effort rather than count is what is scored. Points accumulate into levels and achievements, and the household leaderboard shows the split.
The leaderboard is meant to make an uneven split visible, not to rank people. It can be ignored entirely and the rest of the app works the same.
7. Offline and syncing
Recent household and chore data is cached on your device, so the app opens and stays readable without a connection, and supported changes sync when you are back online.
A cold start with no connection is read-only until the account can reconnect — the cached session has to be revalidated before anything can be written.
8. Exporting or deleting your data
Settings → Export Data produces a copy of your data. Settings → Delete Account erases your account; it cannot be undone, so export first if you want a copy.
Chores you created in a shared household stay in that household’s record with your name detached, so deleting your account does not blank out the list for everyone else.
9. Troubleshooting
- A chore is missing. Check you are looking at the right household — you can belong to more than one.
- Changes are not appearing for someone else. Both devices need a connection to sync. Pull to refresh once you are back online.
- Sign-in fails. Use the password reset on the sign-in screen. If the reset email does not arrive, check the spam folder before retrying.
- Notifications arrive at the wrong time. Reminder timing follows your device clock and time zone; check both if you have travelled.
10. Privacy
Your household’s data is shared with its members and nobody else. The full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
