Today we're delighted to announce that TritonSleep, our calm and beautifully simple sleep toolkit, is officially live on the App Store. It's the app we wanted for ourselves: something soft to listen to, a few quiet minutes of breathing, and absolutely nothing shouting at you on the way there.
Most sleep apps ask for an account before they'll play you a rain sound. Then come the ads, the streaks, the notifications asking why you haven't slept lately. TritonSleep does none of that. Open it, press play, put the phone down.
A library built for nighttime
Dozens of sounds, all chosen for the dark: soft rain, heavy rain and rain on a window; distant ocean, rolling waves and quiet streams; light wind, a crackling fireplace, steady fans. White, pink, green and brown noise for masking a shared wall or a snoring partner. Night crickets, warm ambient pads, a soft heartbeat, a cat's purr, and gentle felt-piano pieces for when you want something with a little more shape to it.
Every sound is loop-tested, so there's no seam to catch your ear just as you're drifting off.
Mix your perfect night
One sound is rarely the answer. TritonSleep lets you layer up to five and balance each one independently — rain over a low fan, ocean under a soft pad, a generated tone humming beneath it all. When you land on a combination that works, save it as a mix and start it again with a single tap tomorrow night.
Drift off, not on
Set a sleep timer for 15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes and TritonSleep fades out slowly rather than cutting to silence — anything from a gentle 30 seconds up to a long three-minute fade. Audio keeps playing with the screen off, so you can put the phone face down and forget about it.
Breathe your way down
Guided breathing with a calm animated circle to follow: Box Breathing, Slow Breathing, 4-7-8 and Calm 4-6 — or build your own rhythm if none of those suit. No jargon, no streaks, no pressure to perform. Just a few quiet rounds before bed.
Tones, routines and quiet words
There's a tone generator too — steady single tones and soft two-tone pulses, generated on the fly. Start from a preset like Drift or Settle, or dial in your own frequency and blend it into a mix. Headphones are recommended; keep the volume low and comfortable.
For the nights when you'd rather be led than choose, five short wind-down routines pair breathing with the right soundscape: Quick Reset, Mask Noise, Quiet Mind, Body Relax and Deep Drift. Longer guided sessions are there for a racing mind or a body that won't settle. And if reading something gentle helps you let the day go, there are affirmation decks — Calm Evening, Letting Go, Gratitude, Self-kindness and Restful Night — one calm line at a time.
Rounding it out is a small Learn hub: short, practical reads on how sound masking actually works, what the noise colours mean, why slow breathing settles you, and how to shape a sleep-friendly bedroom. No fluff, and no promises we can't keep.
Yours, privately
TritonSleep is local-first in the fullest sense: no account, no analytics, no microphone access, no backend at all. Your favourites, mixes and session history stay on your device. The optional bedtime reminder is a local notification — nothing is sent to any server. Subscriptions are handled by the App Store, so we never see your card details.
Free, with an honest Premium
TritonSleep is free to download, and the free tier is genuinely usable rather than a demo: a sound from every category, the tone generator, two breathing patterns, two routines, an affirmation deck, the full Learn hub, and the sleep timer with a single layer.
TritonSleep Premium unlocks the rest:
- The complete sound library and five-layer mixing
- Unlimited saved mixes, every breathing pattern and the custom builder
- All wind-down routines, guided sessions and affirmation decks
- Custom tones and the longest fade-outs
- €1.99 per month or €9.99 per year — cancel any time
A note on wellness
TritonSleep is designed for general wellness and relaxation. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. If you have ongoing sleep problems or health concerns, please speak with a qualified healthcare professional. Use sounds at a comfortable volume, and never while driving or anywhere reduced alertness could be unsafe.
How to get started

Android is coming. TritonSleep is in testing on Google Play now, and we'll update the TritonSleep site the moment the listing goes live.
