This Privacy Policy explains what personal data TritonFire (the “App”) collects, how it is used, who it is shared with, how long it is kept, and the rights you have over it. The App is published by TritonApps (“we”, “us”), an indie studio based in the Republic of Ireland. We are the data controller for personal data processed through the App.
TritonFire is a particle playground and studio for iOS and Android — fireworks, confetti, sparks, and atmospheric scenes that you play with, edit, and save. Understanding how it handles your data starts with one principle: TritonFire is local-first. There is no TritonFire account, no login, no cloud sync, and no server of our own. The App is a one-time purchase with no ads, no subscriptions, and no in-app purchases.
1. Who we are
The App is published by TritonApps, an indie studio based in the Republic of Ireland. We are the data controller for personal data processed through the App. For privacy matters please email privacy@tritonapps.com. For general support please email support@tritonapps.com.
2. What we collect, when, and why
We try to collect as little as possible and only what we need to run the service. Because TritonFire is local-first, the vast majority of your data never leaves your device. The categories below match our App Store privacy disclosure and the Google Play Data Safety form.
2.1 Your creations and settings
- Presets, scenes, and settings — the custom effects and scenes you save, and your app settings (quality profile, haptics, sound, tilt, low-flash mode), are stored locally on your device. There is no TritonFire account and no cloud sync. We hold no copy.
- Exports — preset and scene files are generated on-device. An export leaves your device only when you explicitly share it through your device’s share sheet.
2.2 Motion data
- Device motion (accelerometer) — used only when you enable the optional tilt interactions, and processed entirely on-device to move particles around. Motion data is never recorded, stored, or transmitted. You can revoke motion access at any time in your operating system settings.
2.3 Purchase
- TritonFire is a paid app with no in-app purchases. Your purchase is processed entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play under their own privacy policies. We do not receive your name, email, or card details, and the App contains no purchase or subscription SDK.
2.4 Diagnostics
- Crash reports and error traces via Sentry, in production builds only. Sentry receives crash stack traces and technical metadata such as device model, operating system version, and app version.
- Sentry does not receive your presets, scenes, or personal identifiers.
- We do not use advertising, third-party analytics, or tracking SDKs. We do not track you across apps or websites, and we never sell your personal data.
3. Sub-processors
The following is the only third party that receives any data from the App. It is bound by a Data Processing Agreement (or equivalent) and processes data only to deliver the service.
- Sentry (crash and error diagnostics) — production builds only; receives crash stack traces and technical metadata. No creations, settings, or personal identifiers.
The Apple App Store and Google Play process your purchase of the App itself under their own privacy policies; they are payment processors acting independently of us.
4. How long we keep it
Your presets, scenes, exports, and settings are stored locally on your device and are kept for as long as you keep them there. They are removed when you delete them in the App or uninstall the App. We do not hold a copy.
Diagnostic events (Sentry) are retained for a limited period and then deleted. Apple and Google retain purchase records under their own policies; we do not control those records.
5. Your rights
If the GDPR or UK GDPR applies to you, you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you,
- have inaccurate data rectified,
- have your data erased (“right to be forgotten”),
- restrict or object to certain processing,
- receive your data in a portable format, and
- lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority — for users in Ireland, the Data Protection Commission.
Other jurisdictions may give you similar rights (CCPA, LGPD, and others). We honour requests on the same basis regardless of where you are.
6. How to exercise your rights
Because TritonFire is local-first, you control almost all of your data directly. Erasure of your presets, scenes, and exports is achieved by deleting them in the App or uninstalling the App — this removes the data from your device. We hold no copy to erase.
For the limited diagnostic data held by our sub-processor, email privacy@tritonapps.com and we will request deletion of your Sentry records on your behalf. We respond within 30 days, in line with GDPR Article 12. We may need to verify your identity or ask for relevant technical details before processing a request.
7. Children’s data
TritonFire is suitable for all ages, but it is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16 — the App collects no personal data from anyone beyond the anonymous diagnostics described above. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact privacy@tritonapps.com and we will delete the relevant data.
8. International transfers
Our sub-processor Sentry is US-based and may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where it does, transfers rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent transfer mechanism. Your data continues to be protected to the standard required by the GDPR.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that affects your rights, we will update the effective date above and notify you in-app or by other appropriate means before the change takes effect. Older versions are kept on file and are available on request.
