This Privacy Policy explains what personal data TritonMeasure (the “App”) collects, how it is used, who it is shared with, how long it is kept, and the rights you have over it. The App is published by TritonApps (“we”, “us”), an indie studio based in the Republic of Ireland. We are the data controller for personal data processed through the App.
TritonMeasure is a mobile augmented-reality measuring app for iOS and Android. It measures real-world distances, areas, and room layouts using your device camera and depth sensors, and lets you save measurements as projects and export “proof-pack” PDF reports, editable SVG plans, and CSV measurement tables. Understanding how it handles your data starts with one principle: TritonMeasure is local-first. There is no TritonMeasure account, no login, and no cloud sync.
1. Who we are
The App is published by TritonApps, an indie studio based in the Republic of Ireland. We are the data controller for personal data processed through the App. For privacy matters please email privacy@tritonapps.com. For general support please email support@tritonapps.com.
2. What we collect, when, and why
We try to collect as little as possible and only what we need to run the service. Because TritonMeasure is local-first, the vast majority of your data never leaves your device. The categories below match our App Store privacy disclosure and the Google Play Data Safety form.
2.1 Camera and depth / AR data
- Camera frames and depth maps — processed on-device to compute measurements using LiDAR and ARKit RoomPlan on supported Apple devices, and ARCore with the Depth API on supported Android devices. Camera frames and depth maps are not uploaded, transmitted, or stored as images.
- Derived geometry — only the geometry you choose to save (points, lengths, areas, and room outlines) is stored. It is stored locally on your device.
- The camera permission is used solely for AR measurement and can be revoked at any time in your operating system settings.
2.2 Projects, measurements, and exports
- Projects and measurements — the projects, measurements, and outlines you save are stored locally on your device. There is no TritonMeasure account and no cloud sync.
- Exports — proof-pack PDF reports, editable SVG plans, and CSV measurement tables are generated on-device. An export leaves your device only when you explicitly share or export it.
2.3 Subscription data
- Subscription entitlement — to validate your subscription, RevenueCat receives a pseudonymous app user id and your purchase / receipt data. It does not receive your name or email.
- We do not receive your card details. Payment is handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play under their own privacy policies.
2.4 Diagnostics
- Crash reports and error traces via Sentry, in production builds only, with approximately 10% performance trace sampling. Sentry receives crash stack traces and technical metadata such as device model, operating system version, and app version.
- Sentry does not receive your measurements, images, or personal identifiers.
- We do not use advertising, third-party analytics, or tracking SDKs. We do not track you across apps or websites, and we never sell your personal data.
3. Sub-processors
The following are the only third parties that receive any data from the App. Each is bound by a Data Processing Agreement (or equivalent) and processes data only to deliver the service.
- RevenueCat (subscription management) — receives a pseudonymous app user id and purchase / receipt data to validate your subscription entitlement. No name or email.
- Sentry (crash and error diagnostics) — production builds only; receives crash stack traces and technical metadata. No measurements, images, or personal identifiers.
- Apple App Store and Google Play (payment processors) — process the purchase itself under their own privacy policies.
4. How long we keep it
Your projects, measurements, and exports are stored locally on your device and are kept for as long as you keep them there. They are removed when you delete them in the App or uninstall the App. We do not hold a copy.
RevenueCat retains purchase and entitlement records for as long as needed to manage your subscription. Diagnostic events (Sentry) are retained for a limited period and then deleted. Apple and Google retain payment records under their own policies; we do not control those records.
5. Your rights
If the GDPR or UK GDPR applies to you, you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you,
- have inaccurate data rectified,
- have your data erased (“right to be forgotten”),
- restrict or object to certain processing,
- receive your data in a portable format, and
- lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority — for users in Ireland, the Data Protection Commission.
Other jurisdictions may give you similar rights (CCPA, LGPD, and others). We honour requests on the same basis regardless of where you are.
6. How to exercise your rights
Because TritonMeasure is local-first, you control almost all of your data directly. Erasure of your projects, measurements, and exports is achieved by deleting them in the App or uninstalling the App — this removes the data from your device. We hold no copy to erase.
For the limited data held by our sub-processors, email privacy@tritonapps.com and we will request deletion of your RevenueCat and Sentry records on your behalf. We respond within 30 days, in line with GDPR Article 12. We may need to verify your identity or ask for the relevant app user id before processing a request.
7. Children’s data
TritonMeasure is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact privacy@tritonapps.com and we will delete the relevant data.
8. International transfers
Our sub-processors RevenueCat and Sentry are US-based and may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, transfers rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent transfer mechanism. Your data continues to be protected to the standard required by the GDPR.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that affects your rights, we will update the effective date above and notify you in-app or by other appropriate means before the change takes effect. Older versions are kept on file and are available on request.
