Getting started

How do I take a measurement?

Open TritonMeasure and point your device at what you want to measure. Move the device slowly in a small arc for a second or two — this lets the AR tracking initialise and understand the space. When you see the on-screen reticle lock onto a surface, tap to place your first point, move to the next spot, and tap again to place the second point. The distance between them appears live as you go.

Measuring distances, areas, and rooms

Use Distance to measure a straight line between two points. Switch to Area to drop three or more points and close the shape — TritonMeasure calculates the enclosed area automatically. For a whole space, choose Room and walk the perimeter, placing a point at each corner; the app stitches the walls into a floor plan as you move around.

Tips for clean captures

Move slowly and deliberately, keep the surface you’re measuring in frame, and place points on clear, well-lit corners or edges. You can undo the last point at any time and reposition before committing the measurement.

Device requirements & accuracy

Which devices work best?

You’ll get the best results on devices with a depth sensor — LiDAR-equipped iPhones and iPads, and Android phones that support ARCore with the Depth API. TritonMeasure also runs on non-LiDAR devices using standard AR, though accuracy is reduced because the app has to estimate depth from the camera alone.

How do I get the most accurate measurements?

A few habits make a big difference:

Accuracy disclaimer

TritonMeasure produces estimates derived from your device’s sensors and AR tracking. They are reliable enough for planning, quotes, and general reference, but they are not a substitute for a calibrated instrument. Always verify any safety-critical or structural measurement with a physical measuring tool before relying on it.

Projects & exports

Saving your work

Save any capture as a project so you can return to it, add more measurements, and keep related rooms together. Projects keep your points, areas, and floor plans in one place.

Exporting

TritonMeasure can export a proof-pack PDF report, an editable SVG plan, and a CSV measurement table for use in other tools. Exports are stored on your device and are shared only when you choose to share them — nothing leaves your phone automatically.

Subscription & billing

What does TritonMeasure Premium unlock?

Premium unlocks unlimited projects, proof-pack PDF reports, advanced room and floor-plan workflows, editable SVG and CSV exports, and pro templates. The free Starter tier lets you try the app with a limited number of projects.

How do I subscribe?

Open the in-app paywall and choose a Premium plan. Billing is handled securely by the Apple App Store or Google Play.

Restore purchases

Already subscribed but Premium isn’t showing — for example after reinstalling or switching device? Tap Restore purchases in the app to re-sync your subscription.

Manage or cancel

Apple App Store and Google Play own subscription billing — we cannot cancel for you. Manage or cancel through your store account, and see step-by-step instructions in our Subscription Terms.

Troubleshooting

AR won’t start or I see “tracking lost”

Move to a more textured, well-lit area and pan the device slowly so it can re-anchor to the space. If it’s still stuck, restart the AR session (back out of the measuring screen and re-enter, or relaunch the app). Featureless, reflective, or dimly lit surfaces are the usual culprits.

The app can’t access my camera

TritonMeasure needs camera access to measure. Enable it in your OS settings — on iOS: Settings → TritonMeasure → Camera. On Android: Settings → Apps → TritonMeasure → Permissions → Camera.

My measurements look off

Recalibrate by moving around the space to let tracking re-anchor, improve the lighting, and place points on textured (non-reflective, non-transparent) surfaces. On non-LiDAR devices, expect a little more variance. For anything safety-critical, confirm with a physical tool.

The app crashed

Sorry — please email support@tritonapps.com with your device, OS version, and what you were doing when it happened. The app sends anonymised crash traces automatically (via Sentry), and your bug report helps us reproduce the issue.

Privacy & data

What we collect and how to exercise your rights are documented in the Privacy Policy. TritonMeasure has no account — your measurements and projects are stored locally on your device and shared only when you choose to export them.
