BraintideThese Terms of Use govern your use of the Braintide mobile application (the “App”), published by TritonApps, an indie studio based in the Republic of Ireland. By downloading or using the App you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Your licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, in accordance with these Terms and the rules of the store you obtained it from. The detailed licence terms are in the End User Licence Agreement.
2. Acceptable use
You agree not to reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the App except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it; not to circumvent or tamper with the purchase or entitlement mechanisms; and not to redistribute, resell or sublicense the App or its content.
3. Purchases and subscriptions
Braintide is free to download and includes 13 of its 82 games free forever, with at least one in each of the ten skills. Braintide Pro is an auto-renewing subscription that unlocks the remaining games, the weekly report and full per-skill history.
All payments are taken by Apple or Google, not by us. Full details — price, renewal, cancellation and refunds — are in the subscription terms.
4. No medical or diagnostic claims
Braintide is a game. It trains focus and memory for fun. It is not a medical device, it makes no claim to diagnose, treat or prevent any condition, and it shows no percentile, brain age or ranking against other people — because it has no data about other people and will not invent any.
Braintide is entertainment and mental exercise. Nothing in the App is medical advice, and no score it shows you is a clinical measurement. If you have concerns about your memory, concentration or cognition, speak to a qualified healthcare professional. Do not use the App while driving or doing anything else that requires your attention.
5. Your data
Braintide is local-first: your training history is stored on your device, not on a server of ours. You can export all of it as a JSON file at any time from the Profile screen, and deleting the App deletes it. See the Privacy Policy.
Because your data lives on your device, you are responsible for your own backups. We cannot recover a training history from a device that has been lost, reset or restored without one.
6. Availability and changes
We may add, change or remove features, including individual games, as the App develops. The App works offline; some features depend on your device's operating system and are subject to its behaviour. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of the stores or of purchase validation, which are operated by Apple, Google and our payment sub-processor.
7. Intellectual property
The App, its games, its artwork, its written content and the Braintide name are owned by TritonApps and protected by copyright and other laws. Several games are descended from well-known published psychological tasks; those methods are not ours, and the App names their origin on the screen before each game. Our implementation of them is.
8. Liability
The App is provided “as is” to the fullest extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer under Irish or EU law.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the Irish courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your own country and may bring proceedings there.
