These Terms of Use (Terms) form the agreement between you and TritonApps (we, us) for your use of the Car & Bike Theory Ireland mobile app for iOS and Android, previously named Car Theory Prep Ireland, and the related website at tritonapps.com/cartheoryprep (together, the Service). By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Acceptance
By using the Service you also agree to our Privacy Policy and EULA. Together these documents describe how the Service is provided and how your use of it is governed.
2. Service scope
Car & Bike Theory Ireland is an independent study and revision tool for the Irish Driver Theory Test. The Service supports category BW for car, tractor and work-vehicle candidates and category AM for moped and motorcycle candidates, with separate category banks and mocks, performance review, a road-signs trainer, category-specific guides, a glossary, test-day guidance and reminder scheduling.
3. Independence and non-official status
Car & Bike Theory Ireland is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or approved by the Road Safety Authority or Prometric. Practice questions are independently authored and are not official Driver Theory Test questions. Nothing in the Service should be understood as a claim of official status, official endorsement, or guaranteed exam relevance.
4. Eligibility and permitted use
You may use the Service for your own personal study and preparation. You must not:
- copy, resell, or commercially redistribute the Service itself,
- reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the source code except where applicable law requires that right,
- circumvent licensing or entitlement checks,
- use the Service in a way that breaks applicable law, or
- present the Service to others as an official RSA or Prometric product.
5. Purchases and restores
The Service is designed to offer a free starting experience with separate one-time lifetime purchases for category BW and category AM premium access. Buying one category does not unlock the other. Purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play, and entitlement handling is managed through RevenueCat. We do not receive or store your payment-card details.
Products purchased under the separate Motorcycle Theory Prep Ireland app record cannot automatically transfer to this Service. Historical purchase and refund support remains available through support@tritonapps.com.
Restore flows depend on the supported store account on the same platform. Because the Service has no TritonApps account system, purchases may not automatically transfer between iOS and Android.
6. Local data and backups
The Service stores study progress, settings and reminders locally on your device. Deleting the App may remove that local data. Because the Service has no study-data cloud sync, you are responsible for preserving any information you want to keep.
7. Content expectations and limitations
The Service is intended to support revision and structured preparation. It does not promise that any question will appear in a real assessment. It does not guarantee a pass. Performance indicators, readiness views, and mock breakdowns are intended to guide study decisions, not to predict an official result.
The Service is also not a real-time driving aid. Do not use it while driving, cycling, operating machinery, or in any situation where distraction could create a safety risk.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided on an as is and as available basis to the extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will always be uninterrupted or error-free, that all independently authored content will always remain current without review, or that the Service alone is sufficient for exam success. Official and current RSA materials remain your responsibility to consult where appropriate.
Nothing in these Terms excludes non-waivable consumer rights you may have under applicable law.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TritonApps is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses arising from your use of the Service. Our aggregate liability for claims arising out of the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount paid by you to us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) EUR 50. This does not limit liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
10. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access where required by law, where the Service is being misused, or where continued operation would expose us to unreasonable legal or operational risk.
11. Changes to the Service and Terms
We may update the Service and these Terms from time to time. If a material change affects your rights, we will update the published effective date and provide notice where appropriate before the change takes effect.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ireland, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules, subject to any non-waivable consumer protections that apply where you live.
