About these questions
These 60 questions are a fixed sample from the 1,401 reviewed questions in Car & Bike Theory Ireland, spread across the topic areas of each test. Each round draws 10 of them at random and, until you have seen them all, avoids repeating any.
They are independently written practice questions, not questions taken from the real test. Every one was written against a published source — the Rules of the Road, the Traffic Signs Manual, legislation or official guidance — and the source is shown under each explanation.

The real test, in numbers
| Test | Questions | Needed to pass | Time allowed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Car (category BW) | 40 | 35 (87.5%) | 45 minutes |
| Motorcycle (category AM) | 40 | 35 (87.5%) | 45 minutes |
A round of 10 is far shorter than the real thing, so treat the score as a quick check, not a prediction. For the format, marking and booking in full, read The Irish Driver Theory Test, explained or The motorcycle theory test.
